What is pmkvy?

Fact and matter-

  • Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana(PMKVY): It is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) launched in 2015 and implemented by National Skill Development Corporation(NSDC).
  • Objective: To enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
  • Under the scheme, Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
  • Training and Assessment fees are completely paid by the Government



what is pmkvy 3.0-

PMKVY 3.0 envisages training 8 lakh candidates over the scheme period of 2020-2021 with an outlay of Rs 948.90 crore. ... With the advent of PMKVY 3.0, the focus is on bridging the demand-supply gap by promoting skill development in areas of new-age and Industry 4.0 job roles," it said.







What is pmkvy 2.0-

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) was launched in 2015 to encourage and promote skill development in the country by providing free short duration skill training and incentivizing this by providing monetary rewards to youth for skill certification. The overall idea is to boost both the industry and employability of youths. During its pilot phase in 2015-16, 19.85 lakh candidates were trained.

                                  




Who are eligible for pmkvy-

The scheme only applies to the Indian nationals who are:

  •  Unemployed.
  • College/school pass-outs/ dropouts.

To avail of the benefits through the scheme, one should have identity proof – Aadhaar / Voter ID and a bank account in their name as well.


Components of pmkvy-


  • Short Term Training.

    The training provided helps many jobless individuals and school or school dropouts to get a job and earn their livelihood in a better way. The training program goes under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). The time period of the training program under this scheme is between 150 – 300 hours.

  • Special Projects.

    Under the special project’s component of PMKVY, training is provided in special areas such as Government bodies, industry bodies, and corporate offices as well.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning.

    PMKVY issues certificates recognizing any prior learning experiences of an individual. Individuals are assessed by the assessment bodies accredited by the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs).

  • Kaushal & Rozgar Mela.

    National skill development Corporation (NSDC)under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India organizes job fairs across the country to provide suitable employment opportunities to unemployed youth in the private sector to accelerate employment initiatives in the country. been doing

  • Placement Assistance.

     Under the placement guidelines, PMKVY’s training partners provide placement opportunities to individuals certified under this scheme. Training partners act as support for the development of entrepreneurs.

  • Continuous Monitoring.

    To ensure high standard quality maintenance by PMKVY TCs, NSDC and empanelled Inspection Agencies use various methodologies which include self-audit reporting, call validations, surprise visits, and monitoring through the Skills Development Management System (SDMS). These methodologies shall be enhanced with the engagement and introduction of the latest and new technologies.
